This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Uluv Technologies Private Limited (“Uluv”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) collects, uses, processes, stores, shares, and protects Personal Data when You access or use Our platform connecting pet parents with caregivers, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Policy is issued in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and applicable rules.
For the purposes of this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them below. These definitions are intended to align with the DPDP Act and are to be interpreted accordingly:
“Anonymisation” means the irreversible process of transforming Personal Data in such a manner that the individual cannot be identified, directly or indirectly, by any means reasonably likely to be used.
“Applicable Law” shall mean all laws, statutes, regulations, rules, guidelines, circulars, notifications, and directions issued by any governmental or regulatory authority in India, including but not limited to the DPDP Act, and any rules framed thereunder, as amended from time to time.
“Consent” means any freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous indication of the Data Principal’s agreement to the processing of their Personal Data for a specified purpose. Consent may be obtained through: explicit user actions (such as ticking a checkbox), digital acceptance mechanisms, OTP-based verification or such other methods as We deem fit.
“Data Fiduciary” means any person who alone or in conjunction with others determines the purpose and means of processing Personal Data. For the purposes of this Policy, Uluv acts as a Data Fiduciary in respect of Personal Data collected through the Platform.
“Data Processor” means any person or entity that processes Personal Data on behalf of a Data Fiduciary. This includes third-party service providers engaged by Uluv for functions such as: cloud storage, payment processing, analytics, communication services, and such processors act strictly in accordance with Uluv’s instructions and contractual obligations.
“Data Principal” means the individual to whom the Personal Data relates and includes:
a user of the Platform;
a pet parent;
a caregiver or service provider; and
any individual whose Personal Data is provided to Uluv in connection with the Platform.
Where the Data Principal is a child, the term shall include their lawful guardian acting on their behalf.
“Grievance Officer” means the individual designated by Uluv to address complaints, queries, and requests relating to Personal Data and compliance under applicable law.
“Personal Data” means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data, whether directly or indirectly, and includes:
identifiers such as name, phone number, email address, or government-issued identification numbers;
contact and location information;
device identifiers, IP addresses, and online identifiers;
user-generated content, communications, and feedback;
any inference drawn from such data for the purpose of profiling or service delivery; and
pet health data.
For the avoidance of doubt, Personal Data includes data relating to pet ownership where such data is linked to an identifiable individual.
“Platform” means the digital ecosystem operated by Uluv, including:
mobile applications;
websites;
dashboards and interfaces used by caregivers or users;
communication systems, including in-app messaging, notifications, and support tools; and
any related services, features, or integrations provided by Uluv.
“Processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on Personal Data, whether or not by automated means, including: collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, alignment, restriction, disclosure, dissemination, transfer, erasure, or destruction. Processing shall also include automated analysis, profiling, and use of artificial intelligence tools where such activities involve Personal Data.
“Sensitive Personal Data” while the DPDP Act does not formally classify “sensitive personal data” as under previous frameworks, for the purpose of this Policy, this term is used contextually to refer to categories of Personal Data that require enhanced safeguards due to their nature, including:
government identification data collected for verification;
precise location data;
Such data shall be processed only with explicit consent and additional safeguards.
“Services” means all services provided through the Platform, including but not limited to:
connecting pet parents with caregivers
facilitating bookings and scheduling
enabling communication between users
processing payments and refunds
providing customer support
offering insights or features powered by data or artificial intelligence.
